ラビ米の作付面積は前年度比４３％増（インド）
インドの南東部では年間を通して米の栽培が可能で、カリフ米、ラビ米の栽培が行われています。
作期は、前者が6～7月頃作付け、11月から12月収穫、後者は11～2月頃作付け、翌年3月から6月頃収穫です。
インドの写真①は、その南東部のテランガ－ナ州ハイデラバード近郊の村で収穫されたカリフ米の精米の袋詰め作業です。
2017/１８年度のインド全体のカリフ米の生産量はアッサム州等での洪水やカルナータカ州等での干ばつが生じたものの、約1億3千万トンで5年平均を上回りました。
写真②は同村の2017/18年度のラビ米で2018年1月現在、栄養成長期にあります。
本年度のインド全土のラビ米の作付け面積は、163万ヘクタールで、前年同時期と比べ43％増加しています。
Planting area of Rabi rice for 2017/18 is increased by 43% from last year in India
It is possible to grow rice through year in southeast of India, Kharif rice and Rabi rice are grown. Kharif rice is planted from June to July and harvested from November to December, and Rabi rice is planted from November to next February and harvested from March to June next year.
Photo ① shows the bagging operation of Kharif rice harvested in a village near by Hyderabad, Telangana, southeast of India. Kharif rice production in India for 2017/18 was 130 million tons with exceeding 5 years average, despite occurring the flood in Assam and the drought in Karnataka.
Photo ② shows Rabi rice in vegetative growth stage in the village as of January 2018. Planting area of Rabi rice in India this year is 1.63 million ha, up 43% from last same season.
