デュラム小麦の生育は順調（イタリア北部）
Durum wheat is growing well in northern Italy.
本日の写真は、イタリア北部エミリア・ロマーニャ州の小麦畑です。
写真①は、パンやクッキーの原料となる軟質小麦の圃場です。撮影した2月9日時点の休眠状態は良好で、まもなく休眠明けを迎えると見られます。
写真②は、パスタの原料となるデュラム小麦の圃場です。
撮影した2月10日時点で、冬季の休眠から明けて分げつ期を迎えています。
現地調査会社によれば、デュラム小麦の主産地であるイタリア南部では雨が少ないようですが、同地域では適度な雨が降り、生育は順調となっています。

Today’s photos show winter wheat fields in Emilia Romagna, northern Italy.
Photo① shows a field of soft wheat which is the main ingredient of bread and cookie. As of 9th February 2018, the crop has overwintered well and will soon emerge from dormancy.
Photo② shows a field of durum wheat which is the main ingredient of pasta. As of 10th February, the crop has emerged from the dormancy stage and started tillering.
According to an agricultural consulting company in Europe, in this region the crop is growing well because there has been good rainfall in contrast to the main durum wheat production regions further south in Italy.
