冬小麦畑、積雪なしでも問題なし（黒海沿岸地域）
Limited snowcover would not cause damage for winter wheat crop in the Black Sea Region.
本日の写真は、1月上旬に撮影された分げつ期を迎えて休眠中のロシア（写真①）とウクライナ（写真②）の冬小麦畑です。
2017年の秋に播種されたこれらの小麦は、冬季の休眠を経て、今年の夏に収穫される予定です。
国際穀物理事会の報告(2018.1.18)によれば、小麦主産地のロシア南部では、例年になく温暖で、寒さから作物を守る雪もそれほど積もっていません。
また、ウクライナでも産地の大半で1月半ばになっても雪が積もっていませんが、気温は被害が出るほど低下していないとのこと。
現在生育中の冬小麦と、春に播種する春小麦をあわせた2018/19年度の収穫面積は、ロシアでは播種時期に乾燥したため2,650万ヘクタールと前年度を1.1％下回る一方、ウクライナでは好天に恵まれたため670万ヘクタールと前年度を1.5％上回る見込みです。
Today’s photos show winter wheat fields in the tillering stage and entered dormancy in Russia (Photo①) and Ukraine (Photo②) in early January 2018. These winter wheat planted in 2017 autumn will be harvested next summer following winter dormancy.
According to the report by IGC released on 18th January 2018, in Russia, although there is limited protective snowcover in southern areas, the main winter wheat production area in the country, temperatures have been unusually warm. And most regions in Ukraine lacked snowcover by mid-January, but temperatures have not been low enough to cause damage.
Harvest area for 2018/19 crop, total of winter and spring wheat, is projected to down by 1.1% from last season to 26.5 million hectares in Russia due to the dry weather in the planting period. However area in Ukraine is projected to increase by 1.5% to 6.7 million hectares with good planting conditions.
