カナダの小麦生産はわずかに増加する見通し
Production of Canadian wheat is projected to increase slightly compared to previous season.
カナダでは、小麦全体の約７割が春小麦、約２割がデュラム小麦、残り約１割を冬小麦が占めています。
カナダ農務農産食品省（AAFC）によれば、2018年夏から秋に収穫される生産量は、前年度（2,998万トン）をわずかに上回る3,000万トンとなる見込みです。
収益性が高いデュラム小麦や春小麦の作付面積は、冬小麦や豆類からのシフトにより増加するものの、春小麦の単収は、平年並みに戻り前年度を下回る見通しです。
本日の写真は、昨年秋に播種された、カナダ東部オンタリオ州の休眠の冬小麦畑です（2月28日撮影）。
オンタリオ州ゲルフ大学のブリンクマン氏によれば、２月末の大雨で一部で洪水も発生しましたが、小麦には特に影響がなかったとのことです。

Canadian wheat consists of around 70% of spring wheat, 20% of durum wheat and the left 10% of winter wheat.
According to the report by AAFC, in 2018/19, wheat production is projected 30 million tons with increasing slightly compared to previous season.
Seeded area to durum and spring wheat is forecast to increase because of relatively good prices and a shift out of winter wheat, lentils and dry peas.
Today’s photo shows a winter wheat field planted last autumn in Ontario, Eastern Canada, as of 28th February 2018.
Dr. Jonathan Brinkman of University of Guelph in Ontario, told that there was some heavy rain towards the end of February, with flooding in some areas, but it also came off most fields fairly quickly, so the wheat crop should be okay so far.
